CWHF RESPONSE TO THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
Over the last week, we have been monitoring the rapidly evolving outbreak of COVID-19 and its impact locally, nationally and globally.
We have determined that the best way to protect our organization, its continuing work to fulfill its mission, the animals that we manage in the wild and those that we care for directly, and last but not least our employees who are needed to do this work, is to err on the side of caution and limit our exposure as much as is possible. We continue to monitor the spread of the virus and are heeding guidance from the CDC, WHO, as well as our local, state and the federal government.
Our museum gift shop will re-open on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021. We have closed our rehabilitation farm in Grandy to all except essential personnel. Our plan will be to continue “business as usual” but without events and in-person meetings, and we will stagger personnel coverage. We are a very small staff and each person is essential in what they do for the organization, especially those who are directly responsible for the care of the horses.
Please follow us on Facebook for updates. We will also be scheduling live feeds periodically so that you can stay in touch with the horses and our work.
We will be available to fulfill your online orders and will have each shipped generally within 3 to 4 business days.
Should you need immediate assistance, we can be reached via Facebook messenger or email – info@corollawildhorses.com. We continue to remain on call 24/7 for emergencies. If you witness an emergency with a wild horse, please call the Currituck County non-emergency number at 252-232-2216 and they will contact our Herd Manager.
We will continue to evaluate this developing situation and will do our best to keep you informed.
As always, we remain vigilant for the horses and dedicated to our mission. It is our hope that we will see everyone this summer. Please heed the advice of health care professionals and take care of yourselves. We look forward to being back up and running at full steam soon.
Thank you for your support!
